George Stewart
George is a retired U.S. Navy Commander. He began his naval career as a seaman in 1942 and was in charge of the Navy Oceanographic Research Facility in Lewes, Delaware before he retired. After retiring from the Navy, George served as Delaware's Boating Law Administrator until 1987. Upon retirement he was presented with the Order of the First State Award by then Governor Mike Castle. George went on to work for the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and eventually served in the capacity of Executive Director until he retired in 2005.. In 2005, George met Ella Robinson. They are best friends and she introduced him to painting. The following year his paintings won four ribbons at the Delaware State Fair. In 2007, his paintings won five ribbons, including the "Judges Award" and "Best in Show Award". |
